What is the ratio between staff and children?
For children 7 years old and under (Fun Bunch) the ratio is 1:8.
For children 8 years old and over (Action Gang and Academy) the ratio is 1:10.
Do children get to choose activities?
Activities are planned by the team using feedback from the children and their parents to plan an enjoyable timetable. If you have any suggestions, please let us know.
What happens during the children’s swim time?
Are there field trips and enrichment opportunities?
Yes, Camp Energy provides a range of day trips and often invites specialist visitors in to talk to the children.
What if my child isn’t happy after their first day at Camp Energy?
If your child isn’t happy after their first day, let us know and we will do everything in our power to make their second day amazing. If, after the second day, your child still isn’t happy we will give you a full refund of any remaining days you have booked. Please note this only applies to children attending Camp Energy for the first time.
Who are the Camp Energy staff?
Your children will be cared for by a professional team of qualified play workers, teachers and sports coaches with experience in providing activity camps. We also employ younger people who aspire to work with children as assistants, enabling them to gain experience and knowledge within the sector.
All of the Camp Energy team are DBS checked and some have also had specialist paediatric first aid or first aid at work training.
What are their qualifications and experiences?
Staff hold qualification in sports coaching and childcare and early years, with many of them qualified PE teachers or primary school teachers.
What are the staff duties?
To ensure that all children enjoy and achieve during their time at camp and remain in a safe, fun, environment.
What background checks do they undergo?
All staff are DBS checked, and at least 2 references obtained.
We recommend that expensive items such as jewellery, computer games and mobile phones should be left at home as we cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage.
